Surgical Services
We provide a wide variety of surgical procedures at our clinic including everything from routine spay and neuters, soft-tissue surgeries, C-sections, eye surgeries and orthopedic surgeries, etc. Your pets must be fasted with no food or water for about 12 hours before just like human procedures. Most surgeries are done in the mornings and are discharged in the late afternoon so they are back home the same day. For some major orthopedic surgeries such as bone plating and knee TPLO procedures or other complicated procedures we refer them to specialists or board certified veterinary surgeons in Edmonton to perform complex operations. To determine if there are underlying medical conditions that may increase the risk of surgery, we highly recommend that a complete general physical examination and blood work be done beforehand. Read Pre-surgical Preparation and Testing for more detailed information. Post surgical operation home nursing and rehabilitative care is often just as important than the procedure itself when it comes to determining the long term success. Always, carefully and diligently follow all post-op home care instructions.
